What kind of HD is it ? If it's a Maxtor or Western digital go to the Maxtor site or do a google search for the "MaxBlast Plus ver. 1.2.7s", boot disk to setup your HD.

It's a maxtor but the bios sees it. Since the bios sees the drive i don't want to install maxtor's boot modifiers.

What i did to format the drive was to boot it to a boot disk made from my win 98 machine. ran fdisk.
rebooted to xp and formated the drive.
