currently embedding in IE...why is it that doing business with these people is like being fondled
by your "uncle".

The embedded method MS uses is kinda neat.
It actually compresses the font to a little less than
half its original size and uses a $root to call it.

It can also be used in word and PP docs.

More here:

Typography makes such an impact on the ideas you wish to communicate.

could not get IE 8 to work. Did everything I was supposed to. Said it worked in beta 2 but even MS said it worked but then found a article or two that said it was not supported or that support could be dodgy...oh well that's MS for ya.

Like I said fondled by an 'uncle'.

one other note image replacement of text was only
9.5kb while the .ttf font was 23kb.

MS took that page down sometime ago and now its back up.....I remember using WEFT about 10 yrs ago. The only free one at the time and worked in all browsers at that stage.

Sigh, My design skills have exceeded what the current tool set can do. I try to stick to best practice
instead. I hate coming with a neat visual element only to find it only works with certain browsers.

The majority of us have yet to grasp the idea of native design...

@John do you still fly with Javascript turned off?
