I want to spec for the CSS font-family properly for Linux.

What sans-serif fonts do you use or prefer to read?

Does Linux come with Helvetica or is that a myth?

Red, I know you had asked Bob for the generic sans-serif
a while back. Is this better than the alternatives such as Bitstream Vera Sans?

John, what do you use as a default?

I've been stuck on windows lately mainly cause of CS3 so i cannot tell you for sure.

Arial and sans are the two i usually try to use though unless requested otherwise.

While Linux is very flexible and using other platform fonts not all users are inclined to install anything other than defaults unless doing some critical font associated work. I would agree with Red and stay safe with Arial.
