dictionary.com =D

Actually just checked my "Oxford English Dictionary" 2002 and it read as follows...

<b>suss v</b>. (<b>susses, sussing, sussed</b>) (often <b>suss out</b>) <i>Brit. informal</i> realize or understand the true character or nature of.
-<small>ORIGIN</small> from <small><b>SUSPECT</b></small>.

So the fact that's it's British slang might be where the problem lies.
I answer rhetorical questions for my own enjoyment.

I was born in Montreal, but we came out here when I was 6 and I've never been back there, although one day!   :)

oh ok. I read that in the wrong context then. Back to the point, anyone know where one can cheaply and convieniently purchase a 20-50 Ohm rheostat besides Radio Shack which doesn't carry them?

Any real electronics store should have them, or be able to order one. Radio Shack can't even be considered one anymore, IMO.

Seriously. All they sell are TVs, sattelite/PCS service, and Cable/Antenna connectors and the tools that go w/ them. I bought some nice precision files from them and my cell phone, but other than that they are pretty limited.

Ahhh now you are talking language I can remember, Yeah a rheostat is the go, they will handle the current I was talking about and you can get them in low resistance as required. <br>Sounds like you got it all figured-out this time. :) <br>A wire-wound rheostat of the correct current capacity is what you need. You will probably have to order it as Sloppy said. Otherwise you would have to build a little electronic speed control circuit I guess?

Yep, Digikey is a good one. I was trying to remember that one, and a few other similar supply houses. I looked at the damn catalogues every other day for two years, yet can't remember the freaking names of them! I must be getting old, damnit. :razz:

I remembered one! Mouser! They're another good elec supply.
