I love the idea. I'm sick of paying 5.95 for 10 oz of air, which lasts through one good box cleaning. Anyone try this?

WOAH! I've got a big 30 gallon air compressor in the garage too. Looks like I'll be shopping around for this baby soon, as I too - hate how fast the cans get used up.

Thanks for the super kick ass link Bob.

Here's some pricing---can't find very good descriptions of the products yet

http://www.cleansweepsupply.com/pages/s ... 17102.html

This is better. Apparently the cheap hand pump takes the place of the $70 compressor. Better (because less expensive) for lite usage?

Ah... If you just buy the refillable can, you can refill it using a tire pump---or at the gas station:

Now... has anyone ever used it? Dennis? You probably have 10 for your team?

Heh heh.... another thought. Am I the only one who has noticed the difference between the boxen of smokers and non-smokers?

I followed the OfficeMax link from the original link, but had to search manually and it was 14 or 15 smackaroos.

As for smoked boxen, cheap rubbing alcohol works wonders.

I buy the compressed air that contains a solvent that breaks down that smoke film pretty good. It's about $4.00 a can and good for one cleaning. I don't think I would pay that much for air alone. Maybe a trip to the car wash would be cheaper. <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

Ok, popped it out of the plastic sheathing.... read the fu..... read the manual (uh.... the back of the box....). Pumped till my arm was tired. Tried it. woshh...

Then pulled out my store-bought, pre-filled, $5.95 for 10 oz aircan... fired it... WHHHHHOOOSSSSHHHHHHH.....

Hmmmm.... The refillable can lacks a little in the power dept. And what power it has it loses quickly. 5 sprays maybe? Sucks. The box says it'll hold up to 100 psi. I wonder what the specs are for the pre-filled can. It doesn't say. (Anyone got a can that gives the specs?)

So ok, tomorrow, one more try. I'll fill the empty can at the local hydrocarbon emporium's compressor.... See if I get better results.

If not.... back to CompUSA, and refundsville.... By the way, the cost of empty can plus pump--$26, which is great if it saves me 5 aircans, but sucks for something that'll sit in a drawer unused.

Hmmmmm.... maybe the weakness is in my arm then. I'll fill it up at the gas station and we'll see. The refillable can alone was $16 at CompUSA. The hand pump added $10..... Could've bought the compressor, $69.... Hmmmm... I'll use the filling station...

(Heh heh.....)

Well if the gas station thing works, I wouldn't consider that too onerous.... No more difficult to go to the pump and fill up than to go to CompUSA and buy a new can. By the way, John, you can unscrew the valve in the can and add alcohol or whaterver solvent you wish.... <thinking>..... hmmmmm... heh heh.... gasoline...... um, no, not good.... gasoline bad.... </thinking>

And next week we'll be seeing bob sell a new manual titled "How to make a super flame thrower for under $20 and other ways to kill yourself", I'm sure.

Hmmm... that gasoline idea aint so bad and here was me thinking that reading this thread every visit would be pointless. I don't have anything to clean, but that air pump is starting to sound pretty good.

As for that hand pump, I was figuring it wouldn't work from the second you mentioned it and was curious to see how they got it to work and now I see.......... they didn't.

Filled it at the local gas station--same problem--no power. Final verdict: Sucks--it's going back and I'm gonna get my $26 back.... Heh heh..... at CompUSA, they call me "Bob the Borrower"
