Disable the animation of the hiding task

Hack your OS, customize your GUI, announce great software, and configure, configure, configure...

Hi there!

Is there a chance to disable the animation of the hiding taskbar. I mean the taskbar
should popup in a short time.
Hope you will understand what's my intention. *ggg*

I'm using Windows 98.

You want to speed up the time it takes for the taskbar to appear when it's in a hidden state? Check Tweak UI, listed at Shell City--it has a tweak to speed up menu response.

Thanx for the tip.

But i don't want to speed up the delay time. I want to disable the animation. I'm looking for a registry hack.

I haven't seen any regestry hacks that do what your asking on the net or through my own experience. You would have more of a chance finding a replacement taskbar that did what you were looking for.
I answer rhetorical questions for my own enjoyment.

Is that controlled by smooth scrolling?

You don't want the taskbar to pop-up when your in the area? Drag it to another side or the top and hide it there. If you don't like the little white line that the task bar leaves when hidden get ....This.... TaskbarHide.

Thanx for all tips, John, Bob and Gerry.

And I will test smooth scrolling and its effects.

The tool TaskbarHide (you get it at
http://users.cybercity.dk/~dko1437/tbhide/index.html) is exactly what i want.

Thanx again.
