Hi people!!

Long time no C....

Well I'd like 2 introduce a new FREE Office Suite

at http://www.openoffice.org

there's a Solaris,Linux and a WINDOWS version....

Funny that the Solaris and Linux versions are 65mb and 68mb respectively AND that the Windows version is 47.5MB only!!!

I think this is the opensource version of the Sun StarOffice but I'm not sure. whatever it is, is small-ish, free and It works
...

Come on and download it NOW!!!

UPDATE:

If you don't want to download it you can buy it for a very reasonable price :
http://www.smb-computing.co.uk/smb/orde ... oductId=31

it's £2.50 ONLY including p&p to the UK!!!!
and £4.30 for USA including p&p

It's seen a very very good investment hehehe

Actually they are both Open Source, the difference being "open Office is a trimmed down version of Star Office with most of the same functionality and GUI. This one doesn't want to take over your desktop as the full-fledged version does. Very nice "Office" addition. Worth the download and then some. Each suite is flawlessly intergrated.

It's the source on which Star Office v6 is being built, liscensed under the LGPL (Lesser GNU Public Liscense) and SISSL (Sun Industry Standards Source Liscense). (Some components in the existing Star Office are liscensed from third-parties, and can't be open-sourced.

One of the things Star Office 6 is supposed to do is break out the seperate components as individually usable pieces, rather than one huge bundled app. I'll have to look at Open Office, and see how far along they are. The fact that it's one huge monolithic app is my main beef against Star Office 5.2.

Hello Rob

what's up?

I've been to Spain all this time and I didn't had a computer there so I had no contact with all the tech stuff at all.....imagine it...you can get Loco !!!

Anyways back in London again so you'll hear from me a lot more.....

As i've been away from all this net stuff I'm going mental trying to figure out all the new ideas and new proggies.....

I've got myself a new-ish racy Thinkpad 600X with nearnly 600mb of RAM, 32 Gb of harddrive space to fill, DVD, CDRW, Firewire port, etc. from EBAY
for $470. Also it's got Windows XP pro, and lots of great programs like Flash5, Partition Magic7, Photoshop6, etc. I have to say that I got a good deal here! i just need to install Mandrake 8.2.....

And I need to sort out some fast connection but looks like British Telecom is still crap..... I know it sucks but I have to stick with modems for now...

so YES I'm back ....

OLE!!

Merry XMS and a HAPPy nEw YEar
