regedit shell = .LNK file

regedit shell = .LNK file

I'm trying to make a program a shell but the way the program was made it would'nt work if i did

shell = program.exe i think it has to do with having to execute the program.exe file at the home directory where all its files are.

so i figured i'd use a shortcut link in but apparently regedit won't recognize it and goes to explorer...

so im wondering... how do i make it so that i can do

"shell = program.lnk"

greatly appreciate the help.

i do have a work around though where i make shell call out at batch file and the batch file (shell = program.bat) calls out the shortcut and that loads the program fine. but i want to get rid of the dos window...

thanks guys!

Not sure I follow you. Can you explain what you're trying to do more in terms of ultimate purpose? What do you want to accomplish?

Just any program can't act as a shell. (I suppose the definition of shell is pretty flexible... But I view it as the interface between the user and kernel.
