What do you think?
ooohhhhhh got ya. is it built into the case or does it go into a drive bay? I was halfassed looking for a drive bay one a little while back.
I duno, with so few usb3 devices might be a waste but does give you future expandability with out taking up extra desk space.
most newer cases have one or 2 usb3 ports on them (though you still have to use the cable through the case thing)

The Gigabyte board that is $13 cheaper says:RedRage wrote:There are very few to no mother boards that support front usb3 ports.
It says up to 4 ports and two of them are already on the back. I don't know what "internal USB header" means, but at a guess I'm thinking it means that they are available to be hooked up (eg. to the front of the case).2 x Etron EJ168 chips:
Up to 4 USB 3.0/2.0 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 2 ports available through the internal USB header)
You would probably still need the ports on the front of the case though. Although I imagine you can just get a panel for this.
Then again, I know next to nothing about hardware so these are all guesses.
I answer rhetorical questions for my own enjoyment.

I saw a few sweet external drives in the store the other day that use USB 3. Most devices perhaps don't need that speed, but for hard drives I imagine it would be fantastic.RedRage wrote:I duno, with so few usb3 devices might be a waste but does give you future expandability with out taking up extra desk space.

hmm.. yeah usb3 would be a bonus for external drives though if you're taking it around you might not have 3.0 available (should still work at 2.0 though).
I really don't pay much attention to usb drives though as i use eSATA.
looks liek that board is 13 more though..? I wonder if they make cases with the internal headers yet. as of this summer i couldn't find one of them either.
