That ppa is dated August of 2010......and is not viable. Got another?

No, but the application works like a top. Whats the difference? I use it everyday and have never had a problem.

Applied To:
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx released April 2010 supported until April 2013. The code is released the same time the LTS Lucid was. I update all the time.

Besides, outside of the interface it is a piece of Python
code that is agnostic in nature. Not much can change except the GTK interface. The urgency is low which means it is not a volatile hunk of code anyway. A latent ppa is not always suspect.

if you have a concern I suggest you contact the programmer. I will even do it for you. Just sent the email. Program details are below.

This application takes advantage of an LTS distro.

Format: 1.8
Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2010 14:16:30 -0400
Source: gdocs-mount-gtk
Binary: gdocs-mount-gtk
Architecture: source
Version: 1.2-0ubuntu2
Distribution: lucid
Urgency: low
Maintainer: Martin Owens <doctormo>
Changed-By: Martin Owens (DoctorMO) <doctormo>
Description:
gdocs-mount-gtk - Mount a Google Docs Directory
Changes:
gdocs-mount-gtk (1.2-0ubuntu2) lucid; urgency=low

What is "not viable" mean? This is not syntax I can find anywhere. Are they your words :?: I just love FUD.

The email from the developer is below.

"Hey Don,

So long as the code is useful to you and there are no reported security
concerns, then it doesn't matter if the code is a month old or 30 years
old.

To give an example, do you trust an airplane? Even though the code is
likely to be 15 years old and not touched since?

The status of the project is as it always has been: Fun Research, not
serious. So I never really expected people to use it much and it was
really a demonstration of what can be done with all the existing
libraries and tools.

As such it's not likely to get much attention and when it breaks I may
have to ask for a kickstarter or some other funding method to really get a chance to work on it again.

I hope this helps understanding my position with the project.

Best Regards, Martin Owens"

So it is a program that was written the way so many context apps and other utilities have been written before it and after it. Bob has a database full of them. Good code and works well. So what will be interesting is if it survives the next LTS build. I think like many utilities
it will.

You amaze me once again with your powers of perception. Why is it when someone gives you the slightest bit of disagreement you take it as a personal attack and launch into a defensive tirade that goes on for pages.. You really make it wearisome to even come here anymore.

You are observant. I apologize John, this is the second time I have misunderstood you lately. heh my boss called me an Iconoclast yesterday. I had to look it up.

http://thesaurus.com/browse/iconoclast

Much to my surprise while doing other work programming and researching a navigation system I isolated how Google ranks you and builds search returns. If ppl knew it would upset the apple cart for many in the industry. It can redefine SEO and navigation for web pages as well.

After taking a bunch of shit at work lately for being this
"Iconoclast" and almost losing my job they fired my project manager yesterday and gave me a NICE bonus and 4 weeks of vacation.

"That ppa is dated August of 2010......and is not viable"

By the generality of that line without the later details you supply almost creates a supposition that the code does not work at all, John. For this LTS it works fine. Until a new LTS is released a new RC for Maverick is being developed.

It sounded like you left something out...

I love information. One way or another it eventually becomes transparent over time.

But I suppose it was just me defending myself.

Not FUD busting at all...right?

It took my partner at work to point this out to me.

How's that working out? I haven't tried it yet as I got the feeling it wouldn't be ready in time and the few reviews I've read seem to share that conclusion post install. But how have you found it compared to the last release?
