Futures

I have never been much of a talker here but I have lurked many a year. Shellcity has been my homepage on my desktop for more than a decade. It has been a constant companion, serving up fabulous freeware (and sometimes slightly broken freeware) all that time despite my slow move from Windows 98 now t...

Re: Starting to update again.

I was happily surprised to see things start up again.

If they can impeach a president for lying about sleeping around... its the least we could do.

Personally I think it would do American politics a lot of good if a few politicians were charged with treason. Nothing like fear or the gallows or firing squad to instill accountability.

I use SpeedFan and Notebook Hardware Control to slow the fan and drop the CPU voltage. Makes my computer much quieter. When the CPU is stepped to the lowest setting (half speed) the CPU fan can turn off all together most of the time.

Stupidity isn't a curse brought on by age. Age should only be a disqualifying factor if it interferes with the duties. It's not age that interferes but the symptoms of aging. Doesn't change the fact that bush is in fact, Stupid. I've got a running bet with my father about weather Bush will start a t...

I'm just going to ramble. A very interesting article indeed. There are other, older, memes. Memes that have arrived and have stayed put. Religions, holidays, governmental structures and other societal structures. Some memes actively fight, most prominent with religions and governments (capitalism/de...

Depends on your definition of "Real Life." If someone were to insult you in a blog post would you feel any different then if they had in real life? What if they attacked your reputation? If the actors are the same does the medium of the drama matter? Does it matter the medium that your co-worker use...

I have trouble imagining Ms. Clinton doing anything worse then previous presidents. What ever her interests, they weren't enough to keep Bill from straying.

I really like having an integrated spell checker but the FF one is not all that good. Most times I end up having to attack an online dictionary or worse a thesaurus.

My big issue with conspiracy theories is that they are too sticky. They point the finger to a shadowy group that none can find direct evidence of it's existence. To pull something this big off it requires a lot of little people to keep quiet. Look at the NSA wiretapping fiasco, we know it happened b...

I didn't like how the interface worked so I made some changes.

The window resizes smoother and it tells you in the status bar how many items it found.

You can download it from here (source included):

RegEx file renamer

I was looking for a regex file renamer and found this. It works well enough. http://geekswithblogs.net/cicorias/archive/2006/07/10/84601.aspx There have been numerous times that I’ve needed the ability to rename a set of files based upon a pattern, something regular expressions could easily take car...
