SOD, The registry IS a Db, and it does create entries poiting to whatever change occurs within the system. I'm not talking about MRUs, I am talking about entries pointing out to a file that existed and was moved and then deleted. That entry is still in the Db although the app no longer exists. I don...

The registry being a Db keeps track of every little operation that takes place in your system. If I dl an app to my default dl dir, there will be an ebtry pointing out to that operation, and if I later delete the dl'd file, the entry will remain as part of the Db. Moving files create more entries, c...

SOD, Why do you need to exercize restraint? I didn't say anything that would have merited anything but civilized discourse. If they use Ghost and it works for them, more power to them, however once again I must remind you that old products don't often offer support for newer HW. I'm sure the school ...

Well, if your daughter is using Ghost 8, she is not using the Symantec infected product, as Ghost 8 was not developed by them, but rather purchased from another company whose name escapes me ATM. The problem with older products is their lack of support for newer HW. I don't know whether Ghost 8 or G...

Acronis True Image costs $49.99. But is too cool for words. When booting you just press F11 and ATI will load the linux drivers it uses to create an environment to image/restore your images. The incremental feature is also quite good, as you don't need to create a full image everytime, but simply in...

System "Destroy" is disabled on all my boxes. The last stats I read about SR gave a whooping 64% success ratio when users tried to restore their systems, so much for that. I rely on imaging my system weekly with Acronis instead of having that behemoth running and ab using space for a 6 in 10 chance ...

These are replies to posts that I decided to put online so that when the need arised for a response on a similar topic (religion, philosophy, etc) I would simply direct them to my pages. I got tired of typing, so I decided that posting a link was far more convenient. Are these ethics libertarian one...

Thank you SOD. Appreciate your comments. BOB, My question about links to sites stems from the fact that I guess when I registered (~2 years ago) I must have entered the URL to one of my pages, as it is right here under WWW. I wanted to change that one to my Ethics page, but I understand the reasonin...

I will bob. It's just that sometimes it's tough to start posting on a forum that is so closely knit as this one. But I'm not shy anyways o_0 Oh my sig...it is a long story dating back to tweakfiles.com and the constant fights between APK and me. _________________ C¬‰™©µ§ <font class=editedby>[ This ...

Sorry, must be the wine. I confused you with Bob. My apologies for the portion of my previous post that it's 110% irrelevant.

How about the built in Backup native to XP? I must say I've never used it, but it'd seem to be the obvious one. It is already there. OT: Bob, you may not (I'm sure you don't) remember me, but I used to correspond with you often sending you links to free apps for you to test and if deemed good, post ...
