trouble with Samclean?
*)Samclean is for XP only, i see some of you had trouble with IP being deleted. This happens when your IP gets OLD, and expires, if you go back to the home page you will see that in F.A.Q there is a FIX for it. Tells you how to get a new IP, this takes all of 5 seconds, restart and then your IP is back. If it cant find you a new IP your old one reinstates. There is a TOOL for WINXPIP to help renew your IP so this don't happen as often.
*)Samclean will delete windows background on some PCs, once or twice, it will 'learn' to stop doing that.
This has been a real gremlin for me. It will delete desktop background settings on some computers, but not everyone seems to experience this phenomenon. Check the home page for more F.A.Q
*)The folder you have Named SAMHAINS, is a control folder giving the program the ability to restart your computer after it finishes, thats all.
*)As far as deleting all of it this is what you can do.
1)goto start-run and type regedit
look for this path string by expanding the corresponding folder.
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}ShellSam~Clean]
@="Sam~Cleanup"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}ShellSam~Cleancommand]
@="C:sam1buttonSamclean5.0.exe"
2)Delete both of these. This removes Samclean from the right click recycle bin option
if you have an option for Quick clean-found in older versions then delete this path also:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}ShellQuick clean]
@="Quick Clean"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}ShellQuick Cleancommand]
@="C:samkleenitKleen.exe"
3)Then find the folder C:SAM and delete the whole folder.
As far as the registry tweaks go that we're installed in the beginning, Simple put in your windows XP CD and repair windows.
You could also restore the computer to a time
when you didnt have Samclean installed?
start/programs/Accessories/System Tools/system retore
Follow the instructions an restore to the earliest point before you installed samclean.

Yes.

Yes, did this and that is when some of my troubles started. I used a FIXED IP address, not DHCP. Lost all my settings, and had to re-do them.

Easy to fix, but I also had CHKDSK run initially, why?

Saw that.

Have NO folder called SAMHAINS, although there was a folder in the REGISTRY with that name.

I did all these... and I had the latest version only.

This folder I had and deleted it.

I have other tweaks I don't want to lose. One tweaks WOULD not go in, XP said it wouldn't do it, sorry, didn't keep the output, but it was the one that got me worried over this program.

No, did work, XP said nothing to update, tried 3 different restore ponts.

Also found a LEXMARK Z3 printer now in the REGISTRY and on \SAMHAINS?

2, The 'personal' tweaks you talk of are the best known settings for XP options, a person edited then so yes I guess there 'personal' tweaks, however all 15 tweak, well 14 of them. Some are having trouble with one ,wont install, anyways. The 15 tweaks are made to add speed and control, more options and what have you, goto the home page and read the part of the list of tweaks, this tells you what each one does, reseach online or whereever you like to find out more detail and options for the tweaks, They have been set to what we believe are the best settings for XP.
It's a DOS run program basicly, however it will help and works well.
